Brian is social-work trained and has practiced in The Children & Families Consultation Group since 2001. The Group provides multi-disciplinary assessments to Family Courts. These assessments explore the factors underlying disputes between separated parents, the impact of those conflicts on the children and the possibilities of resolving the difficulties identified.
His previous experience includes being part of an inter-disciplinary family therapy team in CAMHS Cumbria and leading a Family Assistance Order project in N. Yorkshire. He has been involved with a number of family mediation services, most recently as a consultant to the Ear4U Children’s Support Service in Newcastle.
As a family consultant Brian would look to use his experience, within the collaborative law process, to engage with those parents who seek to reach an agreed child-centred separation settlement but who are struggling to do so, due to angry and unresolved feelings associated with the ending of their own relationship.
