I have been a practising Family Lawyer since 1984 and I trained as a Resolution Collaborative Family Lawyer in 2006. I undertook the first collaborative family case with my collaborative colleague Sue McArthur in 2007.
My decision to train as a collaborative family lawyer came from my strong belief that Court is not a good choice for many families. Since 2007 I have regularly worked collaboratively with legal colleagues and took part as a trainer in the first collaborative training for Family Consultants outside London.
In terms of process, what is right for one client or couple is not right for another and in 2010 I trained as a family mediator. At David Gray Solicitors we offer a Couples Information Meeting to help couples make an early informed choice about how they wish to resolve their separation issues by hearing the same information together.
I am a member of the Children Panel and a Resolution accredited specialist in the areas of Private Children Law, Domestic Abuse and Advanced Financial Provision.
I am recommended in leading family directories, the Legal 500 and Chambers for collaborative law and mediation.
I am a Trustee of Relate Newcastle and Northumberland and I currently chair our North of Tyne POD
At David Gray my collaborative colleagues and I are happy to answer any questions or provide further information on the telephone without cost or commitment from you and we are part of the voucher scheme, details of which are on this website.
